With air-conditioning to cool you during the heat of summer, there is something for everyone to watch and enjoy on large screens and stereo sound, you will be completely immersed into the variety of anime and asian cinema hosted at FanimeCon.


We here at FanimeCon know you AMV creators have worked hard over the years to create 5 minute videos for all of us all to enjoy together. The purpose is to engage the AMV community by acknowledging the editors and videos that have stood out over the last year. This programming is inspired by the “Giant Robot Rumble” panel hosted by Steve Yun from Harmony Gold USA. Jerry Gonzales, Head of Video Programming for FanimeCon, hosts a tournament where 5 panelists that are picked from the audience to argue and vote over which robots would win in a fight. The Best of the Angry Video Game Nerd
The Angry Video Game Nerd (aka the Angry Video Nintendo Nerd) can’t get over the terrible video games that consumed many frustrating hours of his childhood (and yours too)! Although this was in the ’80s, the Nerd is still pissed! will be held in the main video room

Remembering the Past with the Nostalgia Critic
Along with the 5 Second Movies, The Nostalgia Critic is the most popular video series created by Walker, in which he plays the titular Nostalgia Critic, a grumpy and easily aggravated character who mostly reviews entertainment from the 1980s and 1990s. His catch-phrase, “I’m the Nostalgia Critic. I remember it, so you don’t have to,” usually opens and ends each video. Not all reviews are negative, such as the reviews of Double Dare, and Gargoyles. He also does “Top 11 Countdowns” and “Old vs. New” comparisons between two movies that share source material. will be held in the main video room.

In Honor of Ishiguro Noboru – Anime Screenings
Ishiguro Noboru, the director of “Mikan Enikki” and one of the famous classic anime directors had passed away on Tuesday, March 20, at 5:45 p.m. in a Kawasaki City hospital. He left behind his wife, Yumi. He was 73.
Ishiguro Noboru was well known for directing a lot of highly regarded sci-fi anime classics such as “Astro Boy (1980)”, “Super Dimension Century Orguss”, “Megazone 23″, “Macross – Do You Remember Love”, “Legend of the Galactic Heores” saga, “Locke the Superman: Lord Leon” and quite recently, “Tytania” and a true story movie “Pattenrai!!”. He also supervised “Katekyo Hitman Reborn!”.
All of his works were a great piece of high quality animations.
May his soul be at peace.

The fanime lineup will include showings showing the films of Hong Kong , Korea and Japan. Sleep is for the weak, but anime is for the weekend — all night, every night. You didn’t travel all this way to watch mindless infomercials in your room. Get out there and feed your head a nocturnal feast of films and series from the hottest new hits to the campiest cult classics, plus eclectic oddities that defy description. So inject that syringe of caffeine and tape open your eyelids, it’s going to be a very long night.
